Chinese Medicine

Acupuncture originated in China over 5,000 years ago. From this time, it has gone through some changes and developments, but the core treatment is the same - fine needles are put into certain points on the body called acu-points.

Acupuncture Alternative Medicine

The principal aim of Chinese medicine is to treat the whole person and recover the equilibrium between the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the individual.

According to the theory of Chinese medicine, the human being has 14 main meridians where Qi (the energy) freely flows through the body. Any blockage in the energy channels can cause pain, swelling, discomfort and long-term a disease. Inserting a needle removes the Qi stagnation and restores the balance.

In my treatments I use:

  • Acupuncture supported by Chinese herbs and infrared lamp
  • Electroacupuncture - where a small electric current passes between pairs of needles
  • Cupping – creates a vacuum on the skin, great for pain relief and to boost immunity
  • Auricular acupuncture – needles are inserted on the ears
  • Magnetic therapy – for patients who are apprehensive towards needles or for treatment support
  • Dr. Tan style acupuncture for pain conditions – uses less needles for an immediate pain relieve
